I has been a visitor to the Professional Beauty Show at ExCel in London ever since I started my training at Jotra Academy. I fell in love with the pure size and spectacle of the event, with hundreds of brands all under one very large roof!
There was always so much to see – Back in those days, you’d need the full two days to weave through the aisles and navigate a swarm of other visitors, all excited to pick up a goodie bag or ten, loaded with freebies from enthusiastic traders, all wanting your business! It was SO exciting! I always said it was the good, the bad and the really ugly, and everything in between!
I’ve been to the show most years and seen rows of fish pedicure tanks; lava shell massage; people queueing up to have LED tooth whitening; scantily clad men and women showing off their heavily applied spray tans (the whaft of biscuits was intoxicating) and models wearing the most intricate body make up! Must have been chilly!!! Bbbrrrrrrrrr
I was honoured to be invited this year to speak on the Business stage to share my insights into running a successful Home Based Beauty Business as part of a panel discussion. I was absolutely thrilled to be asked and be part of such a wonderful topic. Our session attracted a big crowd; lots of eager faced wanting to hear our tips and advice, and words of caution too!
I hope I helped someone in that crowd. Maybe someone who had lost their way in their business or someone who needed the kick to make a start!
