NEW Enzyme Fueled Skincare Launch

Why is exfoliation so important is professional skincare? Well, natural desquamation (skin shedding/exfoliation) is too slow a process for many, so we opt for other methods to slough away dead skin cells.

Without regular exfoliation, our skin can appear sallow and lifeless and lacking radiance. Our serums and moisturisers struggle to properly penetrate the skin as a result of the build up of dead skin cells, so they’re less effective.

What are enzymes – They are naturally occuring proteins and amino acids which accelerate the process of breaking down the bonds which sticks our surface dead skin cells together. It’s a very gentle process, and suits the most sensitive of skins to reveal a more radiant and glowing complexion.Eminence uses Bomalain, Papain and Actinidin in their enzymatic exfoliatin products and they are derived from Tropical Superfoods like Pineapple, Papaya, & Kiwi Fruit. A delicious sensorial experience!

Will I feel anything – Emience is a big fan of active ingredients which bring about a sensation! This is NOT to be confused with a skin reaction! We use ingredients like Cinnamon, Paprika, Nettle and Turmeric to bring about heat stimulation for skin flushing with some of our products to speed up cell turnover and stimulate blood flow. With our new Enzyme range you may experience a mild tingle/minor prickling sensation which can last up to two mintues post treatment with no redness.

Any afterwards? It’s very important to use a good SPF daily after a salon exfoliation treatment in particular, but you know I recommend it daily anyway!

For home use? Of course, the brand new Barbados Cherry Enzyme facial wash is a pre-measured powder dispenser bottle with up to 250 applications! Mix with water to form an emulsion and cleanse you face and next up to three time a week avoiding the eyes. You can also take the brand new Mango exfoliating mask which comes in a gel formulation. Apply thinly with your fingers or a brush and leave on for up to 15 minutes. Use once or twice a week.
